International Business Administration
Duration: 12-15 months full-time, January and September start
Entry Requirements: UK honours degree, or for international students a degree education equivalent to a UK honours degree, 2:2 or above.
If English is not your first language: (Academic): 6.0 or equivalent
Overview
The programme is delivered in stages.
In Stage 1, students are introduced to general managerial
areas and the main international contexts in which they
operate.
In Stage 2, students study specialist units relating to
international business. Students also study one
additional option unit from a selection, the following
are likely to be available:

Communication for International Management
International Finance & Accounting
E-Business Management
For the award of Masters in International Business
Administration students will develop an individual
research project. Assessment is through a combination of
exams and course work. Methods of learning include
lectures, seminars, group work and self study. Each
Masters course has a Programme Leader and Programme
Administrators in addition to the Student Support Officer
to help you whilst on the programme.

Entry Requirements
Applications will be considered from people who have a
first degree equivalent to a UK Honours Degree
qualification preferably of second class or above. Prior
study or work experience directly relevant to business is
not essential but is an advantage.
International Students
If English is not your first language, you will need an
IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 or equivalent, with a
minimum score of 5.0 in the Writing element. TOEFL
internet based 80, TOEFL Computer 213, TOEFL Paper 550.
If your score is lower, you may complete the Bournemouth
University Preparatory English Programmes (BUPEP) prior
to registration.
Pre-sessional Study Skills Programme
In addition to the BUPEP courses, Bournemouth University
also offers a three week study skills preparatory course,
the Pre-sessional Study Skills Programme (PSSP),
specifically looking at the study skills you will need to
complete your academic studies successfully. You will
learn the methods of teaching, studying, researching and
writing that form the basis of your studies at BU,
including topics such as essay writing, referencing,
working in groups and giving presentations.

Stage Three
Research Projectn
Your individual research project will build on various
elements of the programme. It enables students to
explore, in-depth, a topic in a searching and demanding
way.
Fees
Full-time students
The tuition fees for this course, for full-time students
enrolling in academic year 2007/08, are:
International students: £8000
The fee period for the full-time programme is 15 months.
After this period an extension, or retake/resit fee is
payable per unit, including dissertation study. This fee
is subject to alteration each year.
Deposits
Students from outside the European Union
Courses starting in September 2007 / January 2008
To secure a place on a postgraduate course starting in
either September 2007 or January 2008 you are required to
pay a deposit of 15% of the tuition fee or £1,000,
whichever is lower. This deposit must be paid within four
weeks of receipt of an offer of study at Bournemouth
University. If the enrolment date is less than four weeks
from the offer being made, you may pay at enrolment.
Deposits will normally only be refunded if you cannot
meet the conditions of your offer, and/or, if you are not
granted a visa to come to the UK (subject to reasons of
refusal). In both cases proof will be required. |
